I love attending conventions, though I only started going in 2008, because I was under the impression that they were mostly media-driven events like the ones you see on TV, with everyone dressed as Klingons and queuing up for TV stars’ autographs. However there are lots of “literary” SFF conventions where professionals get together with fans and aspiring writers to talk about their favourite genre, network and generally hang out with friends. That’s the kind of convention I like ūüôā
